Glass splash backs and writing boards are what we are all about. Cohesion interiors main objective is to supply innovative glass splash backs and wall cladding solutions for architectural projects, kitchens and furniture doors, as well as all sorts of interior works.
Our main focus is on back painted coloured glass as well as digitally printed glass, used for glass splash backs and writing boards.
This market is growing rapidly and the thirst for innovative back painted glass and digitally printed glass continues to help designers create beautiful and innovative solutions for their projects.
Operating in Cape Town for over 15 years & in Gauteng for the past 2 years, we have been a pioneer in the back painted and digitally printed glass industry. The core focus is on customer satisfaction and product quality.
With our very own in-house production facilities we are able to produce our back painted glass to very specific requirements in the industry
Processing glass splash backs is an art in itself. Glass arrives at our factory on an ongoing basis so that we have stock. The glass comes in huge stock sheets from our suppliers.
Orders are then hand cut from these sheets to the precise sizes, most of the time out of square as our glass backsplashes are custom measured to fit the exact space in your kitchen.
We then polished the glass before it goes for waterjet cutting. All plug cut outs, notches, holes and any other longer T shaped section cut outs are all cutting using our water jet cutter. From there, all cut outs are then softened by hand with a sanding machine, ready to go to Toughening.
Once the glass is toughened the glass splash-backs are washed and are then ready to have either paint applied or prints applied. Back painting happens by spray painting by hand in a spray booth, and thereafter requires 24 hrs curing before handle, Or Printing film is applied and sealed in a vacuum bag and then laminated under heat and pressure in an oven for a few hours.
After these processes, glass is cleaned of overspray or print material and inspected. Touch ups are applied and the glass wall cladding are then ready for installation. Once completed, our team inspects the glass to make sure that the sizes and any imperfections are sorted out and that the job is ready to be installed 1st time by our professional installers.
So that’s it – Oh and if any glass breaks or gets scratched along the way, in any process or does not pass our final quality inspection, then we start from square one again. And every process needs to be followed again in the same order as above.
So as you can see, it’s not just a quick simple process.
We pride ourselves in providing our customers with a great quality product, that is not only safe but beautiful at the same time, and that’s why it takes time. Added to that of course is that each order can be anything from 1 to 50 panels of glass, all of different sizes.
Not only that, we have loads of happy customers that we are taking care of , all with varying orders following the same process.

Cohesion interiors are the sole importers & distributors of EVAkote, the revolutionary additive that is used for back painting the glass. The magic is in how EVAkote permanently binds the paint to the glass. The predecessor to this coating product was Colourkote which we used in association with Glasskote SA.
All our back painted glass comes with a 10 year warranty for Peeling, Bubbling or Discolouration and it has passed all is SABS testing.
We have a standard range of 56 back painted glass colours to choose from, but added to this you are able to choose a specific custom colour of your choice. You can decide, the options are endless.
For a custom option we will always use extra white glass. This glass is specially imported so that when you choose a colour and we paint it on the glass, that it looks as close to the original colour as possible, bearing in mind that you are seeing the paint through the glass and the glass still does have some impurities in it, so does look slightly different.
However this will be the closest you’ll get to your original colour chosen. The best option to choose this is to go to your local hardware store and choose a paint swatch from a Plascon or Dulux colour chart and give us the code. We can then reproduce that colour using our special paints.
EVAglass print which is our one-of-a-kind product used to create glass splashbacks with a uniqueness and difference like no other.
The effects that we can create, From a personal image that you have taken or an image from an image library you can really create an amazing feature in your kitchen, Reception area feature wall or shower wall cladding.
You design it, we’ll create it. We also use the specially imported glass to make the splashbacks, so that your chosen image colours are as true as possible. Choosing an image can be daunting.
So think of some ideas of what you’d like, then go to shutterstock.com, and online image library, type in the idea keywords that you have thought of and search. A number of pictures will come up.
Look for one you feel suites you personally and one that fits the environment where you’ll be using the printed glass splashback.
Once you have that, send us your basic sizes and the picture ID. We’ll design a layout for you based on your sizes and your chosen image. Once agreed upon, we go ahead and purchase the high resolution image, do the final layout and laminate the prints to the glass splashbacks.
Our Glassboards are amazing glass writing boards. Most writing boards today have stained ink marks all over them that you battle to get off. They look really well used after awhile, with smudge marks all over them. This is where glass writing boards are fantastic. They stay looking new for the life of your wall and writing board. Glass writing boards are so easy to clean, just wipe with a cloth and cleaner and it leaves your writing board looking new again.
We offer custom colour glass writing boards to complement your corporate environment, even making the glass magnetic if you wanted. Glass writing boards not only serve a purpose, but look great in your office as well.
We offer Full installation services in Cape Town and the Gauteng area. Our franchisees, Personally visit your home, show you sample colours in the comfort of your kitchen, bathroom or office space, and then take final measurements.
All orders are then produced by our factory and once completed will be fitted by our professionally trained installation crews. Joints are sealed between the glass and the counter tops to give you a beautifully finished glass splashback. The final touches to your fantastic kitchen are now complete. We make sure you are happy with your glass splashbacks once completed.
Further to this we supply back painted glass to trade customers, and even export our glass splash backs, fully crated and ready to install to neighbouring countries. We’ve done work in Mauritius, Zambia and even as far as Lags, Nigeria.
